After da Vinci

PAINTING AND DRAWING WITH THE MASTERS

for adults

    ABOUT THE COURSE

After Matisse

This course was first run at the Guildford Institute in the spring of 2011, because of its popularity and success, it will return to the Guildford Institute in the Autumn of 2011 and in addition will be launched at Evolution Arts in Brighton. Claire uses the Masters' works and techniques to encourage adult students of all abilities. Claire demonstrates how the Masters achieved certain affects and explains what they were aiming to achieve. One Master will be covered over 1-2 weeks and students can choose whether they attempt to copy a Master or use the ideas and techniques demonstrated in their work.

Claire has taught many different classes and courses for many different art organisations locally. Claire has a strong teaching style and believes that classes should be designed to accommodate the individual and what that person wants to learn. Claire encourages the student to choose the medium and subject of their artwork if it is appropriate for the workshop theme. By using her experience, Claire shows each individual student how to use that medium and the best way in which to tackle their chosen subject.
