Teaching Style
I have taught many classes and courses for different art organisations across the South East. I have a strong teaching style and believe that classes should be designed to accommodate the individual and what that person wants to learn within a group setting. I create a relaxed and supportive atmosphere where each student encourages and inspires each other. I encourage each student to choose the medium and subject of their artwork if it is appropriate for the workshop theme. By using my vast technical, and art history knowledge, I show each individual student how to use that medium and the best way in which to tackle their chosen subject.
Experience
I have 20 years experience teaching both adults and children. I regularly run courses and workshops at Guildford Institute. I am frequently invited to demonstrate to art clubs and organisations and work with schools. As part of my 7 year residency at Farnham Maltings I regularly worked within the community and was a visiting artist for Farnborough College of Technology and also advised both students and lecturers there on the current art market as part of the their Media and Creative Arts Liaison Committee.
I have inspired many students, to do projects about me and my work for academic courses. This has included a degree student at Reading University, a GCSE student at St. Anne’s Convent School, Southampton and an NC Design student at Farnborough College of Technology.
