Looking up to the Sky
Oil on Board
80 x 80 cms, 31.5 x 31.5 inches
My artwork included in the Exploring Miniscule series is all about the tiny in the landscape around us that we do not normally see. I take most of my inspiration from the countryside around my artist studio in Sussex. However, this painting is actually based upon buttercups, normal everyday flowers found in most lawns within the UK. I painted these flowers red, so that they are more vivid against the sky background. The viewpoint is that of a tiny insect looking up at the tiny buttercups in a field with the landscape and sky as backdrop.
