About this Painting: Gaia-Sapien is a painting born from both urgency and hope, a visual meditation on humanity’s place within the natural world and the fragile future we face. Inspired by the landscapes of Sussex and the intricate ecosystems that thrive within them, this painting was inspired by my Secrets of Nature series, which explores the impact of climate change and the need for a radical shift in how we live. At its heart, Gaia-Sapien is a message: we must stop seeing ourselves as separate from nature and begin to live in respectful coexistence with it. The central circle in the composition represents Earth, our shared home, our future. Within it, humanity is entwined with nature, not dominating it but living in balance.
