Spirit of Nature #1 Watercolour on Paper, This watercolour is of orchids and in between them, camouflaged faces showing the spirits of nature, representing both mother nature and the green man, and other nature deities. The faces are sad, a reflection of global warming and having the landscape around them destroyed. The colours are positive and bright showing that nature will recover from the onslaught of mankind. I have used orchids because they are a good symbol of exploitation of natural resources because they are often traded illegally and harvested when they shouldn’t be for sale.
