Reclaiming Nature #2
Watercolour on Paper,
21 x 29.5 cms, 8 x 12 inches
This woodland is a combination of red and green trees, opposing colours showing a tension within the landscape. The tension is between nature striving to flourish, but being held back and controlled by mankind.
In the distance are two arches in red representing mankind, was this whole woodland once architecture? Has nature successfully reclaimed the land? This is a painting of hope as the natural order is being slowly restored. Even though this painting is a metaphor, this is what needs to happen to right the balance.
