These pair of paintings are a study of symmetry within Dahlias.  I find symmetry and natural forms within nature irresistible to paint. These two paintings of Dahlia's hopefully show the precision in which the petals are arranged. The work is textured, as a lot of my paintings are to show that nature is not just what we see on the surface, but there is so much more that we do not see or realise.

They are studies in oil paint of the much larger painting “Dahlias”.
