This series of artwork ‘Exploring the Miniscule’ is all about the mini dramas that carry on around us all day everyday in the countryside and local landscape in the UK. I am based in Sussex and observe and document these little dramas as an artist.
These two pieces of art show the same daisy, one painting is of the rear of the Daisy where you can see the prey, which is about to face the predator on the top side of the Ox-Eye Daisy. On the other oil painting you can see the Predator, a crab spider perfectly camouflaged in an Ox-Eye Daisy as it lies in wait for its prey, the shield bug. These paintings are of the everyday flowers and insects that are all around us. |
