In this watercolour painting figures and hands have been intertwined with the trees. Scale has been elaborately proportioned, so that a hand is enormous, but also in the shape of a hanging branch reflecting the trees behind it. Figures are both a part of the trunks but stand independently from the trees too. This is referring to the idea that humanity is nature, a part of it, and just as vulnerable and majestic as any other element such as a tree. I believe that if we perceive ourselves equal to nature we are more likely to work hard to save it. To find out more about this series of work read my blog about the 'Dance of Nature' here. |
