This watercolour painting shows human figures being a part of the landscape. The human forms are interwoven with leaf litter and dying flowers, and all these are combined within the composition to create the earth. The land area in the bottom part of the painting supports the trees that grow upon it which can be seen in the top half of the composition. Just as humanity is reliant upon nature for food and resources, nature is reliant upon humans for protection. We need to restore this two-way balance, so that both nature and humanity benefit from it. |
